Bottling and Shipping
Packaging Your Bottles or Cans
- Each bottle/can must include a label as defined in the Labels page. Labels must be placed on the bottle and the outer packaging. The required information should be easy to read.
- Each bottle/can must be individually wrapped. (This allows us to quickly pack it into another participant’s box.)
- Each wrapped bottle/can must also have a label displaying the ROUND# and your unique SJPC ID# for that round on the outside of the wrapped bottle.Your shipping box should also be labeled with the ROUND# and your unique SJPC ID# on the outside of the box.
Bottle / Can Size
For shipping purposes, please use 12 oz glass bottles, cans or PET bottles (330ml). If PET bottles of this size are unavailable, you may use 16oz (500ml) PET bottles (no glass bottles in this size). Consideration needs to be taken for shipping bottles back to you in the same box. Smaller bottles also lower the cost of shipping and are less likely to break.
Number of Bottles/Cans Required
The number of bottles/cans required can vary greatly dependent upon regional participation and the number of semi-final participants in your region. Plan on bottling and setting aside 45+ bottles/cans of your beer to make it through the final round. After registration closes, your Hub Coordinator can advise you how many bottles to set aside in order to advance in each Round.
“the ROUND# and your unique SJPC ID# for that round needs to be on the bottle, on the outside of the wrapped bottle and written on the exterior of the shipping box.”
